SOL 6: Aberfoyle

Quite a large ELO contingent travelled to Aberfoyle for the penultimate SOL of the 2016 series. The event was run in tandem with the Junior European Championships so we were able to see the sport’s best young competitors in action before tackling the same courses ourselves. And the terrain was suitably challenging for a major championship with its mix of runnable deciduous woods and very dense conifer across steep hillsides separated by extensive marshes.
Most of us had reasonable runs with the best position being gained by Sheila Strain on Short Green. Kathryn Neill (Green), Benji Edmondson (Orange), Tim Harding (Short Blue) and Trina Rogerson (Green) will
also be pleased with the results of their efforts.
