*** Results ***
These are the simple results, just for the running part of the event.
Results as a pdf showing the Kim’s Game bonus for good memory and the overall points.
Routegadget has also been set up and also WinSplits (although for a score event this is of little interest unless you use QuickRoute to analyse your GPS tracks.)
Come along to our annual fun festive event which will be held this year in the morning of Hogmanay at Vogrie Country park. (We are keeping to our regular last Saturday of the month.)
Sheila is planning the course which will be a 60 minute score. As ever, there will be a twist so that just visiting the controls isn’t the only way to gain points and win prizes. What will she have devised for us this year?
There might be a few more details here nearer the event, but don’t expect the whole story 🙂
There won’t be a separate white or yellow map, but we will recommend which subset of the controls will make an easy course so all are welcome.
We will be based in the café which is being opened specially for us.
Vogrie Country Park
Info updated: 20th December (Contactless punching and SIAC hire details added)
Type of event: Fun event
Type of terrain: Parkland, Woodland
Terrain: A mixture of parkland and woodland with some muddy sections and slippy steep slopes. This is definitely the best time of year to run in Vogrie and avoid the undergrowth.
Other Users: The woods are very well used by the general public including dog walkers and families. Please respect their right to be there at the same time as you are orienteering.
Dogs: Area is well used by dog walkers so dogs are welcome.
Vogrie is on the B6372 which runs from the A7 at Gorebridge to the A68 North of Pathhead.
A limited service travels to the Edgehead and Dewarton crossroads, from where the park can be accessed on foot.
There is usually a £1 parking charge. At the moment the barrier is broken and there is an honesty box.
From the car park, walk East following the road to Vogrie House and the café (about 0.5 km)
Registration & Start Times
: This will be from 10am to 10:45 at the cafe
. There is not time to process lots of entry on the day, so please pre-enter on Oentries
If not pre-entering, the registration form
can be downloaded and completed before you arrive.
Toilets and Refreshments. There are toilets near the car park. We expect that the café in Vogrie House will be open.
Start and Finish will be close to the registration. There will be a mass start at 11 am.
Courses Close at 12:30.
Prize giving While you make use of the café, we will work out the results and get ready for the prize giving. Prizes will be awarded to the leading Juniors, Seniors and Supervets and to other notable performances. The number of prizes will be a reflection of the number of pre-entries.
The map has had a minor revision for this year and is printed at 1:6000.
SportIdent (SI) electronic timing will be used so if you have your own SI please bring it with you. Contactless punching will be enabled so you can try the SIAC that Santa brought you 😉 We will have normal SI cards for hire free of charge but there is a £30 charge if lost. If you want to try Contactless punching there is an extra charge of £2(£60 if lost)
