Recent performances

There has been quite a flurry of different events in recent weeks :-

  • JK Festival – generally solid performances by all of the eight ELO members who travelled to Yorkshire for the four days of Britain’s biggest annual orienteering event. Sheila strain did well overall and Duncan Edmondson ran strongly. Former ELO member Kirsten Strain had a wonderful run to come second on Women’s Elite in the Long Distance race on day 3.
  • INTrepid weekend (SOUL4 and SOL 2)  – surprising that just seven ELO members took part in these events which were comparatively close to home. Again most people recorded steady performances with Sheila Strain’s run on Sunday being 3rd on her course
  • ESOC Long O – Pentland Hills – Ian Rowland came 3rd in the 3 Hour Score event and only narrowly missed a win
  • SoSOL 4 – Drumlanrig – only four ELO representatives made the trek south west for Solway’s contribution to the series. Luckily the mountain bikers were not in evidence but their myriad trails through the woods did confuse some runners
