Binning Wood
Saturday 24th October

October’s ELO event was at Binning Wood. Results are here now.

You can also compare your times with others on the WinSplits Online website and compare your routes on the Routegadget site.

Thanks to all those who attended and enjoyed the autumn sunshine. There was a good turnout including plenty of first timers. Sheila Strain did some coaching for juniors beforehand and the benefit was shown in the results. In fact ELO members did very well on all courses:-

  • Emily Atkinson was the fastest round the White course
  • Angus Wright won the Yellow course and was second on Orange
  • Kathryn Neill won Light Green by over three minutes from some very experienced orienteers.

Courses were planned by Julian Hall. Binning Wood is where the photograph at the top of this website was taken.

Hi, Just wondering what happened with number 6 on the light green. I couldn’t find it, though I was fairly sure I was in the right place. I see that there are a few people showing in the results who didn’t find it either – but we’ve not been disqualified. Does this mean it did actually go missing? I hope so because it was driving me mad that I couldn’t find it!

Lovely event – especially nice of you to organise that beautiful weather for us.

    thanks
    hannah

    Hi Hannah

I understand that the control was in the correct feature but that the map showed the feature east of its actual position.

Because of this the leg was ignored in the published results.

    Apologies

    Pete

    Hi,

just wondering if the Winsplits link is correct as I cannot seem to get beyond the results and simple splits. Just curious to see how I could have done without my mistakes.

    Thanks for a lovely event.

    Duncan.
